Alignlee vs PlanITpoker
Comparison as of October 2026, based on PlanITpoker's public website. Plans and features change; check www.planitpoker.com before you decide.
PlanITpoker and Alignlee both let you start without signing up. The practical difference is the participant limit: PlanITpoker's free plan covers 7 participants and its Premium plan, at $20 a month, removes the cap. Alignlee has no cap and no paid plan. PlanITpoker, in return, gives you a story backlog with Jira and CSV/XML import and voting statistics across stories.
For a small team that wants to load stories from Jira and review the distribution of votes afterwards, PlanITpoker is a good fit. For a team that sometimes runs with eight, ten or fifteen people, or that wants confidence-weighted results, Alignlee is the easier choice.
Who should pick which
Pick Alignlee if
- Your sessions regularly have more than 7 people, or the number varies.
- You don't want to pay $20 a month just to add participants.
- You want spectators who watch without counting toward the vote.
- You want each voter's confidence factored into the estimate.
Pick PlanITpoker if
- You want to import issues from Jira (search by summary or key) or from CSV/XML before you start.
- You want to reorder stories, retry past stories and review voting statistics and distribution graphs.
- You want a free account that secures your rooms.

What PlanITpoker does better
Story backlog with imports
Connect Jira, search issues by summary or key, and import them as stories that link back to the issue. CSV and XML imports work on the free plan. Alignlee has no backlog; you name each round as you go.
Statistics across stories
PlanITpoker shows voting statistics and distribution graphs, and lets you retry earlier stories. Alignlee shows a weighted estimate per round and a short end-of-session summary.
Saved rooms
A free PlanITpoker account secures your rooms. Alignlee rooms are temporary and last 24 hours.
When does the 7-participant limit bite?
Count everyone who joins, not just developers. A team of five developers plus a tester, a product owner and a Scrum Master is 8 people. Bring in a designer or an architect for a few stories and you are at 9 or 10. On PlanITpoker's free plan that means someone sits out, or you pay for Premium at $20 a month ($240 a year). We couldn't confirm whether observers count toward the limit, so check with PlanITpoker if that's your plan.
If your team is six people and stable, the limit may never matter, and PlanITpoker's imports may be worth more to you than Alignlee's lack of a cap.
Getting stories in and points out
With PlanITpoker you can prepare the session by importing issues, then estimate them in order. With Alignlee, keep the list of issue keys open next to the room, paste each key into the round title, and type the agreed points into Jira as you go or afterwards from the exported Markdown minutes. For a 10-story session that's a few minutes of typing; whether that matters depends on how often you estimate.
What you get with Alignlee
Alignlee is free planning poker with no accounts and no participant cap. Votes stay hidden until half the voters are in, then reveal automatically with names. Every vote has a confidence slider, and the result is a confidence-weighted estimate. Spectators can watch without voting. Rooms last 24 hours, and you can export meeting minutes as Markdown. It does not integrate with Jira or Slack and has no custom decks. The full feature list is in our planning poker guide.

What we couldn't confirm
We didn't want to guess. These points weren't clear from PlanITpoker's public pages:
- PlanITpoker's exact deck list.
- Whether PlanITpoker has a spectator/observer role, and whether observers count toward the 7-participant limit.
- Whether PlanITpoker exports results, and which plan the Jira integration requires.
