Can we hit the sprint goal? In a Confidence Pulse, everyone rates their confidence from 1 (very low) to 5 (very high). Five devs vote in private.
Votes stay hidden until reveal: 5, 4, 4, 4 and 2. The Team Confidence Score is 3.8 out of 5: moderate confidence, some concerns exist.
Never average away a single low vote. Eli voted 2: "The payment API isn't confirmed yet."
Change the plan. Vote again. The team moves the payment story out of the sprint. Eli now votes 4, and the score rises to 4.2: high confidence, the team feels well-prepared.

Reading the score
The Team Confidence Score is the plain average of everyone's 1 to 5 vote. Alignlee rates 4 and above as high confidence, 3 and above as moderate, and anything lower as low. In the video, votes of 5, 4, 4, 4 and 2 average 3.8: moderate.
The average is not the point; the 2 is. A single low vote often means one person knows about a risk the plan doesn't cover, such as an unconfirmed dependency. Ask what would need to change for it to be a 4, change the plan (usually scope), and vote again. More in the guide to confidence voting and fist of five.
